I now work in the entertainment industry working as the Facilities Assistant. When it comes to planning parties and company events everyone in the office loves how the events turn out. I always get compliments on the dinner parties my husband and I have and everyone thinks I need to do a career change. I love planning social events and could really see myself planning small wedding, dinner parties, retirement dinner, anniversaries etc. but I have no idea how to start a business. If there are any entrepreneurs out there please lend some advice. Thanks in advance!

I have a graphic design project where I have to create a brochure. Since my cousin has spoken about wanting to open a event planning business, I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone: surprise her with the brochure & fulfill my project.

What’s a good name for the business?
Her name is April Showers so I came up with “Heavenly Showers Elite Events” but it doesn’t really roll of the tongue.
Any ideas?

I would like to become an event planner. I love the whole idea of planning parties, weddings ect. I love to help make someone else dreams and visions come to life. How can I go about this without having to go to college?

I’m starting a part-time party and event planning business and I need some good ideas. I live in a coastal area, am going into business with my best friend who is also female, and I will specialize in small, intimate affairs (although I **** that name), children’s parties, and things like that. I want to stray from weddings and receptions. Any ideas?

Hi I’m a single mother of two school-age children. Right now money is a little tight with tuition, after-school, bills and expenses. I’ve been event planning for years and I finally want to branch out on my own, I have website and this week I am planning to send out press releases for free advertising. Does anyone else have any ideas about how to market my event planning company, inexpensively?

I’m in the process of starting a home based event planning business. I’ve read the books, however I would greatly appreciate someone who is in the biz helping me learn the ins and outs by hiring me as a part time apprentice/helper. I’m a honest, mature individual just trying to get in.
I’m in the metro Detroit area

I am in admin work and have been for 13 years and I **** it! I have wanted a career change forever. At my prior job, I was on the event planning committee. I also loved organizing conventions for the marketing department. I think I would love doing this but I want to make sure before I pursue it that I can make good money at it. How do you get started?
