I want to plan an event for high school students this school year. I need to know the basics of event planning and while I think I got the gist of it I want to hear it from a qualified event planner.
That’s KEY factors (sorry for the typo)

Also in a high school who do I need to contact to bring an event to the school.

I am looking to change careers (4 years of work experience). Does anyone know how one gets into corporate event planning (aside from job posting sites and contacts of course)?

I am majoring in Media Arts and Animation. I have also been entertaining at birthday parties and I love doing that. I would like to start work on my own and start planning other events and incorporate digital art and animation skills. What are some ways I could do this?

I’m currently a certified interior designer but that career has never really excited me. I LOVE planning and organizing events outside of work though – dinner parties, hoiday events, bridal showers, birthday celebrations. I’d really like to work for a corporation or a conference/resort center as a professional event planner but am not sure how to break into the field without any prior formal experience. I also can’t afford to take much down time or start at the very “bottom”. What do you recommend? What’s the best way to break into the field? How did YOU do it?

I currently work as an event planner and make $15.75 an hour. This jobs is ending soon so I found another one and was offered a job at $11.00 an hour. I am going to be a senior in college but I have over three years experience already in event planning. Should I try to negotiate on the wages? If so, what’s a comfortable way to approach that?
